A woman brought home 3-day-old puppies that had been thrown away and discarded in a river when her own dog took the puppies into her care and began mothering them.
Amber Hunsucker retrieved a litter of puppies after she heard of them being thrown into a river in Purcell.
Hunsucker said in a Facebook post that she was going to be treating these puppies as orphans, but Hunsucker's dog, Shelby, had other intentions.
"While I was caring for these 4 babies, Shelby was going nuts wanting to see what I had," Hunsucker wrote. "Shelby quickly claimed them as her own."
Hunsucker says there is a $500 reward for anyone who has any information about the person(s) who threw these puppies off a bridge. Anyone with information is asked by Hunsucker to contact the Purcell Animal Shelter.
