We're not sure what the best recent casting news from Marvel Cinematic Universe is—maybe it's William Jackson Harper in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, maybe it's Harrison Ford in Captain America: New World Order—but it doesn't really matter anymore. There's been a lot of it and it's been good!

More reason to cheer arrived Tuesday evening when Variety reported that The White Lotus's Aubrey Plaza will join Kathryn Hahn in Agatha: Coven of Chaos. The upcoming MCU series likely will see Agatha Harkness (whom WandaVision introduced us to) continue her antics after an untimely brush with Wanda Maximoff. According to a previous report from the outlet, the show will be a dark comedy, which sounds about right. WandaVision's head writer, Jac Schaeffer, will serve as the writer and executive producer on the project. Unfortunately, no news of plot details, or anything to truly bite into, came with either report. All we know is that Coven of Chaos will likely see the light of day in winter 2023-24, so we're free to speculate a bit.

If you'll think back to the winter of 2021, you might remember where we left the quasi-villain. We got to know Harkness a little bit throughout WandaVision, learning that she was a victim of the Salem Witch Trials before hunting down Wanda Maximoff in Westview. After she came to blows with the Scarlet Witch in WandaVision's finale, Wanda trapped her in Westview, brainwashing her to actually believe that she's merely a nosy neighbor named Agatha. We're imagining—and hoping—that we'll get more of Agatha's origin story in her solo series, tracing what happened in her life between the Salem Witch Trials and events of WandaVision. Of course, we can expect her to break out of Westview somehow, potentially going after Wanda for another bout. Hopefully, Plaza will enter the fray as a modern-day character, so we can see her wise-cracking in future MCU projects.

No matter what, "Agatha All Along" has to be the theme song of this thing, right?
