A lot has definitely changed in the NBA since Klay Thompson last played a game. Kyle Lowry is has taken his talents to the Miami Heat, Russell Westbrook has gone home to the Los Angeles Lakers, and so much more. The same train of thought also applies to the hobby and how some guys are currently flying below the radar.

In contrast to the more popular guys, such as LeBron James and Luka Doncic, there are some former All-Stars whose rookie card value is being overlooked right now. We take a look down below who these players are and why they are such a steal.

Bam Adebayo rookie cards

Most collectors have moved on from Bam Adebayo after appearing in the All-Star game and NBA Finals not too long ago. The Heat’s early exit against the Milwaukee Bucks last season hasn’t helped the big man too.

The thing is, there are few bigs in the NBA who combine credible defense with a dash of playmaking on the offensive end. With Kyle Lowry, Duncan Robinson, and Tyler Herro stretching the defense, Adebayo can be more effective in either getting a bucket or coming up with easy plays for his teammates.

With an all-around game of 18.7 points, nine rebounds, and 5.4 assists per contest last season, it isn’t hard to be excited about what Adebayo can accomplish in the coming weeks. Likewise, his PSA 10 Prizm rookie card, which is currently valued at $120, stands a good chance of going up as the season progresses.

Brandon Ingram rookie cards

Things aren’t looking so great for the New Orleans Pelicans. After losing Lonzo Ball to the Chicago Bulls, there have been rumors of Zion Williamson not being too happy with his situation in The Big Easy. And after a lackluster offseason that saw minimal improvements to the roster, hopes aren’t that high for the Pels to make the playoffs.

Fortunately, Brandon Ingram is still there to provide a sense of stability to the franchise. For one, his consistent offense is something that can’t be denied. Last season, Ingram notched 23.8 points on 46% shooting from the field and 38 from deep. He also averaged five rebounds and five assists, making his skillset a crucial one for the Pelicans.

While most collectors would often go for Williamson’s stock, there’s a case to be made for Ingram’s 2016 Prizm rookie card. PSA 10 copies go for $143 right now, which gives them enough room to go up in the coming months ahead.

Pascal Siakam rookie cards

The last two seasons were supposed to be Pascal Siakam’s massive leap into superstardom. After Kawhi Leonard left the Toronto Raptors, everyone was expecting Spicy P to fill that void and dominate the wing position. As it turns out, the results left fans a bit disappointed.

Nevertheless, the talent is still there up north. Last season, Siakam posted 21.4 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 4.5 assists in 35.8 minutes per game. If he manages to become more consistent this coming season, there’s no reason for Spicy P to reach the NBA’s upper tier of wings once again.

In the event he achieves this feat, Siakam’s PSA 10 Prizm rookie card will greatly benefit from it. This means there will be a good price boost from its current price of $140 if that happens.

Jimmy Butler rookie cards

Like Adebayo, Jimmy Butler ended last season on a disappointing note after appearing in the NBA Finals and All-Star game a year prior. What can’t be understated, though, is that Miami’s star forward has a chance to redeem himself, especially with a more dangerous roster around him.

Butler’s 21.5 points, 6.9 rebounds, 7.1 assists, and a league-leading 2.1 steals per game last season are numbers that shouldn’t be overlooked. If he combines these stats with a deep playoff run next year, his PSA 10 Prizm rookie card price of $230, can soar even higher.

Klay Thompson rookie cards

It’s such a shame Thompson has missed so much time due to injuries. During his last full season in the NBA, the Splash Brother was averaging 21.5 points on 46% shooting from the field, 40% from downtown, and 81% from the free-throw line.

Just imagine if those injuries never happened and Thompson continued to improve over the time he lost. If that happened, his PSA 10 Prizm rookie card will never settle at $755 and even go higher. That can happen this season with the Golden State Warriors All-Star slated to make a comeback soon.

Even if these former All-Stars have gone quiet in recent months, it doesn’t mean their value in the card market should too. With the basketball card market about to explode soon, it would be wise to hoard on these players’ rookie cards while they’re unnoticed. Doing so can help boost your collection in the coming season ahead.
