Honda will once again depart from Formula 1 after spending over 2 seasons with Red Bull, but the energy drink team will honor their services through a special livery during the Turkish Grand Prix.

The livery will retain the Red Bull branding with the yellow airbox, and blue rear wing while featuring a dominant white base. In homage to the Japanese manufacturer, the driver numbers will be placed on a red circular backdrop. “Arigato” will also be placed along the livery of the car to pay tribute.

Christian Horner expressed his excitement about the new livery this weekend.

Via Matt Moldrige:

“We had all been looking forward to giving Honda's Japanese fans a chance to celebrate our extremely successful relationship in Formula 1, on home soil at Suzuka.”

“The livery chosen for our cars pays homage to Honda's remarkable F1 journey and hopefully we can give fans another victory in those legendary colours this weekend.”

Red Bull are well on their way to making their in-house power-train department, called Red Bull Powertrains for the 2022 season, although Honda will still look to assist in any way that they can before leaving the team for good in 2023.

Max Verstappen will be keen to capitalize on this weekend to get ahead of championship rival, Lewis Hamilton, whom he trails behind by 2 points in the 2021 World Driver's Championship.
