Final round action of the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers returns to countries in the CONCACAF on Thursday, with a lot of intiruging matchups, including an important match for the United States when they host Jamaica.
While they did not lose in their first three matches last month, the U.S. did not look as impressive as many thought they would be. They had a scoreless draw in El Salvador in their opening match, before drawing with rival Canada a couple of days later. They finally got into the win column when they met with Honduras, winning convcingly 4-1, even though the Americans trailed 1-0 at half. Goals from Ricardo Pepi, Antonee Robinson, Brenden Aaronson and Sebastian Lletet helped turn the ship in the U.S.’ favor.

Jamaica went winless in their first three matches last month, only picking up one point in the process. The carribbean squad started of the final round with a 2-1 loss to Mexico, before getting embarrassed 3-0 to Panama in their second contest. Jamaica was able to tighten things up in their final match of the week against Costa Rica, as they were able to come away with a 1-1 draw.
Over the two countries’ histories, the U.S. has won 18 of the 29 meetings, only losing three times to the Jamaicans.
