SUTHERLAND, Neb.-Authorities in Lincoln County said an autopsy has been completed on the body of a man found inside a burned camper in Sutherland last month.

According to the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office, on Sept. 27 at 1:30 a.m., the Sutherland Volunteer Fire Department and deputies responded to 31599 West Park Road in Sutherland.

Authorities said concerned citizens reported a camper engulfed in flames at the location. Upon arrival, neighbors informed deputies and fire personnel that a male subject lived in the camper and was likely in it.

After extinguishing the fire, deputies and firefighters found the body of a deceased person inside the camper.

While positive identification may take a few months due to pending lab results, investigators believe the man is John Coyle, 63, of Sutherland. Authorities said Coyle owned and lived in the camper.

The sheriff's office said the investigation into the death is ongoing, but the death has been ruled accidental with smoke inhalation being the primary cause of death.
