Netflix is going to edit a scene in Squid Game following an unfortunate coincidence that has led to a woman being called thousands of times. We have previously reported that a man was getting an overwhelming number of phone calls following the Korean show's launch but more details have been discovered about who is getting the phone calls and what Netflix is going to do about it.
If you've not yet watched hit series Squid Game on Netflix then here are a few things you need to know. The games that contestants play happen after they're taken from their everyday lives, sedated and transported to a secret facility. For that to happen though, you need to be given a card from a recruiter, and in the show that card has a phone number on the back. You can see where I'm going with this, can't you? One poor woman who happens to have the same number as those cards.

As Reuters reports (via GamesRadar+), one poor woman has been getting thousands of calls from people wondering what happens when they call the number in real life. It's reported that the woman owns a business and can't change her own number because it would affect her work and contacts, so Netflix is going to alter the series instead to show a new number instead.

In a statement, the company said: "Together with the production company, we are working to resolve this matter, including editing scenes with phone numbers where necessary." It has asked fans to refrain from calling the number but of course, not everyone will take that advice.
The woman was originally offered about one million won in compensation ($840) but declined the offer. She has since been offered five million won. It feels pretty amusing that she's been offered millions of won by a company like this when the entire show sort of revolves around that concept, huh?
