PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — As we settle into October, the chill of fall sets in as well. It's perfect for autumnal activities like apple picking or hayrides.

But it's also optimal for hunkering down on the couch, huddled under your blanket of choice with your favorite people and watching something spooky... or not.

Whatever your preference, KYW Newsradio has some ideas for you. Here's what to watch this weekend!

Muppets Haunted Mansion

Would you spend a night in Disney’s Haunted Mansion? Most people with sense would say no, but Gonzo the Great is definitely not most people.

Gonzo, Pepe the Prawn, and the whole Muppets gang lead a star-studded cast including Will Arnett, Taraji P. Henson, Darren Criss and John Stamos. Will it become a Halloween classic? Time will tell, but the trailer looks like frightening fun. Streaming on Disney+ beginning Friday.

Scenes from a Marriage (2021)

Oscar Isaac and Jessica Chastain star in HBO’s remake of Ingmar Bergman’s classic miniseries about a doomed marriage. While the script may not measure up to Bergman’s original, Isaac and Chastain’s chemistry is a reason to watch them in anything. If you have HBO Max, you can easily binge the series before Sunday’s finale. Currently streaming on HBO Max. Series finale streams Sunday.

Escape the Undertaker

Kids, wrestling fans and Halloween obsessives alike might enjoy this Netflix interactive special, which lets you guide good guys Xavier Woods, Kofi Kingston and WWE Champion Big E — collectively known as the New Day — through the haunted mansion of the legendary Undertaker.

It’s silly stuff, but the New Day is always fun to watch, and the interactive aspect lends itself to at least a couple of watches. Currently streaming on Netflix.

The Manor

A woman in an assisted living facility becomes convinced a supernatural force is killing the residents. Her only options are to convince everyone else or escape. Both sound impossible.

Barbara Hershey and Bruce Davison star in the latest installment of Amazon’s “Welcome to the Blumhouse” series of original horror movies. The trailer suggests a marriage of psychological horror with a terrifying haunted house tale. Streaming on Prime Video beginning Friday.

V/H/S 94

The V/H/S franchise returns with a new collection of found footage horror stories. Co-produced by Philadelphia filmmaker Josh Goldbloom, "V/H/S/94" features new work from acclaimed horror filmmakers including Simon Barrett (“Seance,” “The Guest”), Timo Tjahjanto (“May the Devil Take You," "The Night Comes for Us") and Jennifer Reeder (“Knives and Skin”).

Reviews have been strong, calling the ‘90s-set film an intense, gory return to form for the series. Let's just say we wouldn't plan on watching it alone. Currently streaming on Shudder.

The Last Drive-In: Joe Bob’s Halloween Hoedown

Horror host Joe Bob Briggs seems like a crochety old grandpa sometimes, telling weird, digressive jokes and complaining about modern life.

But he's also forgotten more about movies than the vast majority of people will ever know, and he often drops that knowledge on his Shudder series, "The Last Drive-In." He'll be doing that this weekend for a Halloween special, and this time he’s bringing along the team behind the upcoming "Halloween Kills," producer Jason Blum and director David Gordon Green.

As for the movies he’ll be showing, Briggs is still keeping that a secret, though he mentioned on Twitter that they both revolve around serial killers. It'll be a chilling, yet informative and funny night. Streaming live on Shudder, Friday at 9 p.m., on-demand beginning the next day.

Rugrats (2021)

One of Nickelodeon’s most popular cartoons recently returned, this time with 3D computer animation and as a Paramount+ exclusive. But while they’ve updated the show for the 21st century, the designs are still as familiar as possible, and much of the original voice cast has returned.

The next batch of new episodes drops this week. If you loved Rugrats as a kid, or even have kids now, you might want to give the new show a try. Currently streaming on Paramount+.

Sexy Beasts Season 2

If you liked watching people dressed as animals and monsters fumble through blind dates with each other, then you’re in luck! Netflix’s weird dating reality show returns for another season. Currently streaming on Netflix.

Madame X

Madonna was one of the last major pop stars to tour before the COVID-19 pandemic began. If you missed it, or want to relive it, you’re in luck.

Paramount+ is exclusively streaming the documentary capturing the Lisbon stop of her worldwide “Madame X” tour. It’s dramatic, elaborate, and visually arresting - in other words, very much Madonna. Streaming on Paramount+ beginning Friday.

Black Widow

Marvel’s “Black Widow” has technically been on Disney+ all summer, but that was in “premiere access” for an extra $30 rental fee. Now it’s officially available to stream without any extra cost, so if you were holding out, your patience has paid off. Scarlett Johanson stars along with Florence Pugh, Rachel Weisz and David Harbour in an untold tale of the shadowy spy.

Marvel fans might also want to take note of the “What If…” season finale. The multiverse hangs in the balance in "What If... The Watcher Broke His Oath?" “Black Widow” and “What If…” currently streaming on Disney+.

Malignant

If you haven’t seen "Malignant" yet, you’re missing out on one of the most bonkers horror experiences in a long while. Director James Wan (“Saw,” “The Conjuring”) channeled the stylistic influences of his youth into his own strange tale of a nurse plagued by visions of murders, with a twist for the ages. This weekend is your last chance to see it, as “Malignant” leaves HBO Max on Sunday.

And if you enjoy it, you should also try 1978's "Eyes of Laura Mars," directed by late Philly native Irvin Kershner ("The Empire Strikes Back"). It stars Faye Dunaway as a photographer who can see through the eyes of a killer, and Tommy Lee Jones as a detective out to solve the case. “Malignant” streaming on HBO Max through Sunday. "Eyes of Laura Mars" currently streaming on Prime Video.
