LAS VEGAS — Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury are set to fight for the third time Saturday at the T-Mobile Arena with Fury's World Boxing Council heavyweight title on the line. They landed verbal blows during their press conference Wednesday at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

After nearly 30 minutes of calm, things took a turn during Wilder and Fury's final comments.

Here are the most outrageous and funny things said at the press conference.

Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder trade barbs

Often the simplest jokes leave the longest impacts.

Wilder has accused Fury of cheating ever since he lost to Fury in a seventh-round technical knockout in February 2020. He doubled down on it at the press conference. The two fought to a split decision nearly three years ago in 2018.

Fury: "You're in denial and you're getting knocked out. And then you're going to retire."

Wilder: "You were wondering why I kept getting up and getting up? I because I didn't feel nothing. You have no power."

Room for two

Wilder has been pleased with new trainer Malik Scott, who he hired after firing Mark Breland last year. Scott and Wilder are close friends, and Wilder discussed their relationship.

"In boxing you need people that you can trust in this sport," Wilder said. "It's a money-driven sport. It's so many loopholes and different things. You never know who may be jealous, who may envy you in certain ways. ... With him, all my guys, it's the love we have for each other."

Fury lightened the mood.

"Come on, get a room. Get it over with," Fury said.

Wilder has more for Breland

As Wilder and Fury both probed each other, Fury asked why Wilder fired Breland if Fury indeed cheated.

"When someone throws the towel in after the boss tells them not do so, the employee gets fired," Wilder said.

Someone please call 9-1-1

Wilder said he fired Breland for throwing in the towel because he wanted to go out on his own terms, even if it meant losing by knockout and being seriously injured.

Fury knocked Wilder down multiple times in a fight he thoroughly won. Wilder said Fury doesn't have it in him to bounce back up.

"If the roles were reversed and you were in the situation I was in, they would've called 9-1-1," Wilder said.

Fury gets the last blow

As order was being restored during the back-and-forth, Fury made sure he landed the final punch.

"I don't respect him because he's a bum," Fury said.
