Phil Mercurio once again finished in the winner’s circle, taking the Labor Day Blind Draw Mixed Doubles title at Scranton Tennis Club with Nastashia DeNunzio as his partner, as they defeated John Sinclair and Gabby Chantiloupe 5-2. Mercurio was the STC Club Champion in singles, while West Scranton HS ace Chantiloupe was winner of the Blind Draw tournament in June.

DeNunzio was the top female finisher in the preliminary action, with William Arp finishing as the top male finisher. Mercurio earned a wild card to get into the playoffs as the top second-place finisher among the men.

In semifinal action, Mercurio and DeNunzio blanked Arp and Cindi Steve 5-0, while Sinclair and Chantiloupe ousted Raj Mulloth and Nicole Sinclair 5-0.

A total of 24 players participated in the event, and they were treated to a delicious lunch after the tournament by Tim Aikman and Anne Spinelli. Thanks, Tim and Anne!
