Midnight Mass only came out a week and a bit ago, but creator and director Mike Flanagan has already announced his next project.
The man behind The Haunting of Hill House and The Haunting of Bly Manor is adding another intriguing project to his CV, with an adaptation of Edgar Allan Poe's short story The Fall of the House of Usher, first published in 1839.
Tweeting about how excited he is to be working on adapting the master of macabre for TV, Flanagan wrote: "I'm so excited about this series... it is like nothing else we've ever done. More to come very soon!"

As reported by TVLine, Flanagan will be writing the project and directing half of the episodes of this limited series. His constant collaborator Michael Fimognari is directing the other half of them.
It's once again coming to Netflix, and like the man himself said, details beyond that should be revealed sooner rather than later.
Other projects Flanagan has got lined up as part of his multi-year deal with the streamer include The Midnight Club and the intriguingly-titled Something is Killing the Children, so he's definitely going to be a busy man for the foreseeable future.

We wonder if all these projects mean that a second season of Midnight Mass is off the table for now, especially as Flanagan is a man who likes to move on to new things.
Keeping it Netflix and horror-themed, it was announced recently that The Hunger Games actor Donald Sutherland and It star Jaeden Martell have both signed on for Netflix chiller Mr Harrigan's Phone, due out in 2022.
