Joe Burrow takes home player of the week honors for TNF performance

Recently former LSU Tigers WR Ja’Marr Chase took home the honors as the offensive rookie of the month for his play in September. This week it was his quarterback, Joe Burrow’s turn to earn some accolades for his performance on Thursday Night Football against Jacksonville.

On Thursday the Cincinnati Bengals were facing their second loss of the season when the Jaguars took a 14-0 lead into halftime. Burrow had thrown just 8/12 passes for 95 yards with one sack. As the team came out of halftime, the Bengals came out swinging with Burrow leading the charge. He was 2/3 with a 44-yard completion to Chase and then found C.J. Uzomah for the 22-yard touchdown pass.

Burrow finished the game with a stat line that read 25/32 for 348 yards and two touchdowns. His NFL passer rating was 132.8 as he led the team to a come-from-behind victory to improve to 3-1. Safe to say that Burrow is picking up right where he left and even better this year.

This Sunday Burrow and the Bengals will host Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers. That will be a huge test for the young team.
