Nicki Minaj Throws 1-Year-Old Son ‘Kung Fu Panda’ Birthday Bash & Lil Wayne Came Bearing Designer Gifts

Nicki Minaj celebrated her son’s 1st birthday last week, and she recently shared some kick-ass shots from the Kung Fu Panda-themed party.

The rapper and her husband Kenneth Petty posed with their son, whom they call Papa Bear, in pictures shared to Minaj’s Instagram account on Tuesday. The couple’s superstar friends Brandy, Bia, Cassie, Tamar Braxton and many more sent their best wishes to Papa Bear on his big day in the comments section.

“On Sept. 30th you turned 1. Mama is so proud of you, PapaBear. You’re the best boy in the whole wide world,” Minaj captioned the first series of family photos. “I don’t know what I did to deserve you, but God bless you, son. Mommy & Daddy will never stop loving you. #KungFuPanda”

Diddy’s daughters, XO Records CEO Wassim “Sal” Slaiby and his family, and Minaj and Petty’s loved ones were in attendance at the gathering. Variety reported last month that Minaj was in talks to be managed by Sal — who heads the SALXCO management company that’s home to The Weeknd, Doja Cat and more — which she confirmed during an Instagram Live.

While Papa Bear’s birthday was on Sept. 30, it looked like it was Dec. 25 at Minaj’s house after she opened the swarm of designer gifts from Young Money brother Lil Wayne. “@liltunechi I just opened the bags & I’m in shock,” she captioned a video on her Instagram Story. “This is insane. I love you so much. This is A LOT OF STUFF. OMG.”

And while Uncle Weezy came bearing Balenciaga, Burberry, Moschino and Givenchy gifts, Uncle Diddy came through with the libations. The hip-hop mogul gifted Minaj and Petty with drinks for the party, including his signature Cîroc vodka and DeLeón tequila. “@diddy love you so much. Thank you for coming through for us,” Minaj captioned a video of the entire party setup.

The Queen of the Barbz also poked fun at herself for forgetting to sing “Happy Birthday” or cut her son’s Kung Fu Panda cake before the A-list attendees left. “In true Onika fashion, once most everyone was gone, I remembered we didn’t sing HBD & cut the [cake]. I had to bring the baby out in his pajamas for us to sing to him. Boy u gon get this song whether u like it or not,” she wrote on her Instagram Story with crying-laughing emojis. “That was the most fun I had in so long. No one told me kids parties were the jump off.”

“The kids were so omg. The absolute best. They did face painting, making balloons, making headbands, bouncy house, photo booth, etc.,” she captioned the final series of photos and videos from the celebration. “It was so much fun. To everyone who sent a gift, he hasn’t opened gifts yet but thank you, love you. Happy 1st bday. My world, my everything. yes I know I’m spamming your timeline but it’s for my pumpkin pie munchkin.”
