Raptors coaching staff wants team to go against tradition, just get the ball and run

The Raptors are trying to break Malachi Flynn of a habit NBA point guards have worked on since they were little tykes.

A shot goes up, a big teammate grabs a rebound and any natural point guard worth his assist totals tends to wait for the ball and look for it, to take an outlet pass and get going up the floor.

But with this iteration of the Raptors, the coaching staff wants whoever grabs the ball to feel comfortable bringing it up the court quickly, allowing point guards like Flynn to sprint out and, in a perfect possession, beat the defence down the court for an early shot opportunity.
