Going into the summer, Celtic knew that they needed a massive squad overhaul after a disappointing 2020/21 campaign that saw them finish trophyless and 25 points behind the Rangers in the Scottish Premiership. Over the course of the recently concluded transfer window, they signed twelve players overall. Ten arrived on permanent basis while two are on loan with an option to buy included in both those deals.

The performances of the new Celtic signings have been mixed till now. While a few have made their mark already, there are others who are still finding their feet at Parkhead.

One player who has definitely made a bright start to life at Parkhead is Liel Abada. He just turned 20 years of age a few days back and most people would have expected him to take some time to adjust to his new surroundings. That has not been the case though.

According to stats from Transfermarkt, Abada has scored 6 goals and provided 4 assists in 15 appearances across all competitions for Celtic till now.

The Celtic summer signing has admitted he dreams of playing for Liverpool

While speaking with sport5.co.il and as reported by the Daily Record, Abada said:

"“My dream was and remains to play in England, in one of the teams in the Premier League.“The biggest dream is Liverpool, but I have to keep working hard at Celtic to prove myself and take it step by step. Should Mo Salah worry? From me? No! He is a super player.”"

It is safe to say that any potential move to the Premier League and Liverpool is quite a bit away from Abada at this point of time.

Yes, his start to life at Celtic has been very impressive, especially for a player of his age. And there are big expectations of him moving forward. Of course there are areas of his game where he can improve but that is natural.

He is just starting his journey at Parkhead and let’s just hope that he can continue to get better and develop over time. If he can do that, an eventual move to Liverpool is not out of question at all. Just ask Virgil van Dijk!
