Red Sox WAGs went ‘wild’ after team crushed Yankees

Wild would be an understatement.

While the Red Sox celebrated their 6-2 AL Wild Card win over the Yankees in traditional fashion — popping and spraying bottles of champagne all over each other in the clubhouse — their WAGS took the classier approach by drinking it.

Red Sox pitcher Matt Barnes’ wife, Chelsea, posted pictures of their celebrations with the caption “we got WILD”. Chelsea also gave a shout out to the champagne-filled glasses in their suite, saying they were their “lucky charms.” Taylor Plawecki, wife of catcher Kevin, celebrated when he hit a double by chugging one of those glasses.

Kiké Hernandez’s wife brought their adorable baby girl to the game as she was in a sweatshirt with her daddy’s last name and number on the back.

Barnes and winning pitcher Nathan Eovaldi posed for a photo with their wives on the field pre-champagne showers.

Jason Varitek’s wife, Catherine, wrote in tribute to the WAGs and players.

“Cheers to the #GirlsClubofBoston we beat #NewYork and that is all that matters in my book tonight. Well done gentleman!” said Catherine, whose husband is on Alex Cora’s staff.

Pitcher Garrett Whitlock’s wife posed on the field with her man captioning the picture.

“Tonight was WILDDDD, next stop Tampa #BelieveinBoston #WildCardChamps #WeAreWhitlock.”

The WAGS represented their love for the team during their victory celebration by repping two different sweatshirts to commemorate the victory. One sweatshirt said “Let’s Get Wild” with “Believe in Boston” underneath and the other top said “Still Good”.

The theme “Let’s Get Wild” was pretty apparent as mostly all the wives wrote that line on social media.

The Red Sox — and their significant others — have a day to recover before the ALDS starts Thursday against the rival Rays.
