How does Subaru rank when customers score their vehicles? The ASCI study reveals Subaru scored highest in three areas. Check it out here.

Subaru of America announced they now rank highest in three areas in the latest American Customer Satisfaction Index Survey (ACSI) Automobile Study. The Scores from customers reveal the automaker scores highest in overall quality, safety technology, and dependability.

2021 Subaru Forester, Outback, Crosstrek, and Ascent customers and other models score their all-wheel-drive vehicles higher than all other car brands' vehicles in the three areas. The latest ASCI automobile study found Subaru to be number one in safety technology for the second year in a row.

How does Subaru compare with other mainstream brands?

The ACSI study asks customers to evaluate their recent experiences with their car brand between July 6, 2020, and June 28, 2021. Among mainstream (non-luxury) car brands, Honda scores number one with a score of 82. Subaru ranks number two overall with a score of 81, a 3 percent increase over last year's study when they scored 79 points.

These scores were calculated on a 0 to 100 scale in the ACSI using various survey questions that measure different facets of customers' experiences with the product or service.

Why are Subaru Forester, Outback, Crosstrek, and other model owners satisfied with the new car? The ACSI study reveals customers with mainstream brands are most happy with the vehicle's safety (seat belts, airbags, headrests, anti-lock brakes, warning systems).

The next category customers are most satisfied with is the vehicle's dependability (engine, parts, breakdowns). Satisfaction also depends on customers who experienced a manufacturer's recall of their vehicle.

Third, on the list of customer experience benchmarks are driving performance (handling, braking, steering, overall drivability), followed by exterior (look, paint, trim, overall style), comfort (seating, ride, quietness), interior (look, space, cargo capacity, features, material quality), quality and reliability of the mobile app, website satisfaction, technology, (controls, displays, audio, navigation, video systems), gas mileage, and warranties.

Customers are also asked to evaluate the vehicle's exterior, comfort, interior, website satisfaction, and new vehicle warranties.

In the latest ACSI customer automobile study, Subaru is the number one brand in overall quality, dependability, and safety technology. 2021 Subaru Forester, Outback, Crosstrek, and Ascent customers score their all-wheel-drive vehicles higher than all other car brands' vehicles in the three areas.
