Southampton are off to a rough start when it comes to scoring this season and have their eyes on a few players already for January.

It is only October and the transfer rumours are already starting up again and Southampton are already linked with an attacker to hopefully help with their goal-scoring woes.

The player they are linked to, according to Italian site calciomercato, is Celtic forward Kyogo Furuhashi.

The 26-year-old is an exciting player who has scored 4 goals in 5 appearances for Celtic in the Scottish Premier League. His transfer fee would likely not be too high and Southampton could afford him comfortably if they want to reinforce their attack.

So far, just Adam Armstrong has scored out of all the strikers in the squad in the Premier League and that is not sustainable for success. The Saints have had a really tough schedule so far and it does lighten up a bit after the international break so we will see if they start putting more goals in the back of the net.

If they do not start scoring I would not be surprised if Furuhashi or someone else is brought in to challenge for a starting spot. Ralph needs to find who the goalscorers are or it will be a long season for the club and the supporters.

On the other side of the break the Saints will take on Leeds who have been struggling this year defensively and if they are not able to put in at least a few goals against them that will be a worrying sign.
