The all-electric version of the Chevy Silverado will debut at the Consumer Electronics Show on January 5, General Motors announced today. The truck follows the Tesla Cybertruck, Rivian R1T, Ford F-150 Lightning, and GM's own Hummer EV into the hotly contested electric truck market.

The Silverado will offer fleet-friendly trims that should go for far less than the six-figure Hummer. That doesn't mean it'll do without all of the crazy tech, though. Chevy has confirmed that the Silverado will be offered with an Ultium battery capable of providing over 400 miles of range, an expansive glass roof, and four-wheel steering.

Trick steering systems have become a staple of electric truck designs. Rivian's truck will eventually be available with "Tank Turn" that can rotate the truck in place, while the Hummer EV offers a "Crab Walk" function that allows it to move diagonally. There's no word on whether the Silverado—which will be built alongside the Hummer—will get a clever feature like this or if it'll use a more conventional four-wheel steering system. We've reached out to Chevy for more information, but we might be stuck waiting until January 5.
