The biggest headline right now for the Phoenix Suns is the negotiations that have apparently stalled out between the team and center Deandre Ayton on an extension.

Chris Paul weighed in on the dilemma between the Suns and Ayton, per uproxx.com.

“I’m not concerned, that’s the business of the game,” Paul said. “Those contract talks happen as players, agents, all that stuff. We got Mikal Bridges, another guy who’s a big part of our team (eligible for an extension), so hopefully that stuff will take care of itself, so we can get back to playing and doing what we do.”

Ayton burst onto the scene last year for the Suns and was a huge contributor in the postseason as Phoenix made their run all the way through the Western Conference and into the NBA Finals.

There's not doubt that the Suns view Ayton as a key piece of the puzzle for the long term but, the sides haven't been able to hammer home an extension yet.

The deadline for such a deal to come to fruition between the two sides is October 18. If after that there isn't a deal in place, Ayton would become a restricted free agent offseason.

Despite that deadline date, CP3 isn't worried about and expects the Suns and Ayton to work something out.
