In Wednesday's MHL game between SKA-Varyagi and Mikhailov Academy, 2023 NHL draft prospect
Matvei Michkov scored an incredible goal from behind the goal line.
As can be seen in the video below, Michkov, who is expected to be a top two pick in the 2023 NHL Draft, goes to skate behind the net, but instead decides to bank the puck into the net of the side of the head of Mikhailov Academy's netminder. Michkov's goal wasn't enough as Mikhailov Academy went on to defeat SKA-Varyagi by a score of 5-3.
Michkov, 16, has spent the majority of the 2021-22 season in the KHL with SKA St. Petersburg. In ten games, the Perm, Russia native has three points (two goals, one assist), no penalty minutes, and is a plus/minus zero.
