The Los Angeles Dodgers roster for the 2021 National League Wild Card Game against the St. Louis Cardinals features 16 position and 10 pitchers. Like manager Dave Roberts indicated on Tuesday, the Dodgers postseason roster does not feature Walker Buehler.

That was expected as Buehler started the regular-season finale and effectively would not have been available on two days’ rest anyhow. L.A. is also hopeful to advance to the NL Division Series and have Buehler start Game 1 against the San Francisco Giants on normal rest.

However, Julio Urias, who would start a potential Game 2 of the NLDS, is active for the Wild Card Game. “But when you’re talking about one game, there’s really not the need for length essentially because you have so many arms at your disposal,” Roberts said.

Elsewhere on the Dodgers’ postseason roster, Billy McKinney is back with the club. He was placed on the 10-day injured list Sept. 10 due to a left hip impingement and never returned. McKinney did begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Oklahoma City and took part in Tuesday’s workout at Dodger Stadium.

McKinney’s inclusion can be traced to Max Muncy being unavailable as he recovers from a dislocated left elbow suffered on the final day of the regular season.

Steven Souza Jr. Zach McKinstry, and Luke Raley, neither of whom finished the season with the Dodgers, also are on the active roster.
