Stitt has been critical of President Joe Biden's immigration policies, claiming that Oklahoma has seen an increase in drug and human trafficking.
"For the safety of all 50 states, our border must be secure," Stitt tweeted Tuesday.
Stitt tweeted on Tuesday that he received a law enforcement briefing from Texas DPS Director Steve McCraw in Weslaco, Texas.
The governor said the border crisis has impacted the use, trafficking and distribution of illicit drugs in Oklahoma. Stitt added that meth is Oklahoma's biggest drug threat.
In late September, Stitt was among 26 governors who sent a letter to Biden, asking the president to meet with them to discuss border enforcement.
The governors said in the letter that what has happened at the southern border has extended into their states and "requires immediate action before the situation worsens." They also wrote that the solution to ending the border crisis is "simple and straightforward."
"As president, you have the ability to take action to protect America, restore security and end the crisis now," the letter said. "We must end the current crisis and return to border operations that respect the laws of our land and the lives of all people, including those in our states looking to the federal government to enforce and protect our nation’s borders."
