Broad River Fire wrote on Facebook Tuesday, Oct. 5, that someone broke a stained glass window at Clear Branch Baptist Church.
"Sadly, the church has been closed for some time but has a lot of history in Broad River. For those familiar, the stained glass windows all have family names," the Facebook post read.
Rocks were thrown through the window before it was forcibly pushed in. A church member returned to the church Tuesday to cover the opening with boards to prevent further damage.
"What a sad time we are in that someone would be so disrespectful," the post said.

Broad Valley Fire and Rescue also said Buncombe County Sheriff's Department went out to investigate.
