Miami Marlins: 8 Prospects to Play in 2021 Arizona Fall League

Despite the Miami Marlins major and minor leagues seasons having come to an end, a few Marlins in particular will be participating in this years Arizona Fall League including the organizations two 2019 first round picks.

Eight Miami Marlins prospects to play in the 2021 Arizona Fall League.

A total of eight Marlins prospects are playing in the 2021 Arizona Fall League this season, highlighted by three rated among the Miami’s Top 30 overall. These prospects will be playing in the AFL with the Mesa Solar Sox, which includes prospects from the Miami Marlins, Oakland Athletics, Toronto Blue Jays, Chicago Cubs, and Baltimore Orioles.

The eight Marlins’ prospects playing in this years Arizona Fall League are listed below:

OF JJ Bleday 

The Marlins No. 5 prospect and No. 71 overall prospect in baseball, JJ Bleday slashed .212/.323/.373 with 12 home runs and 54 RBI’s in Double-A this season. The former first round pick is Miami’s highest-rated prospect playing in the Arizona Fall League this season.

OF Kameron Misner

Miami’s No. 22 prospect, Misner slashed a combined .253/.355/.433 between High-A Beloit and Double-A Pensacola this season. Across 102 games, the former first round pick also hit 12 home runs and 59 RBI’s with 26 stolen bases.

RHP Evan Fitterer

Miami’s No. 24 prospect only made nine appearances this season where he posted a 4.15 ERA across 30.1 innings pitched between the FCL Marlins and Low-A Jupiter.

INF Troy Johnston 

Johnston slashed .300/.399/.468 between Low-A Jupiter and High-A Beloit this season with 15 home runs and 85 RBI’s.

C Will Banfield

The 21-year-old posted a .567 OPS with six home runs and 42 RBI’s across 67 games this season with High-A Beloit.

RHP Justin Evans

The 24-year-old made 34 relief appearances this season across multiple levels posting a combined 6.40 ERA across 45 innings.

LHP Josh Simpson

Simpson made 19 appearances with the FCL Marlins and High-A Beloit this season posting a 5.91 ERA across 45.2 innings primarily in a relief role.

LHP Jefry Yan

The 24-year-old southpaw posted a 2.61 ERA in 31 innings of relief between Low-A Jupiter and Double-A Pensacola this season.
