5-star defensive lineman and Oklahoma Legacy announces decision date

Gabriel Brownlow-Dindy is no stranger to hearing the words Boomer Sooner. He’s the son of two Oklahoma alumni. He now lives in Florida but it may be nearing the time where he can join his parents in understanding what it means to say “Boomer Sooner.”

Dindy is one of the best high school football players in the country. He’s rated as a five-star prospect on 247 sports, a four-star on Rivals, and a five-star on ESPN. He’s now announced he will make his college commitment on October 12th.

We chronicled just where Oklahoma stood entering the month of September. This battle is solely an old Big 12 fight with Texas A&M duking it out with Oklahoma for the top-flight recruit. Elijah Robinson of A&M has done some major lifting to get the Aggies this far in their recruitment. Will the draw of A&M and being close to his father be too much to pass up? Dindy’s father has a job in College Station. Dindy also had one last unofficial visit to A&M this weekend. He was in Norman for his official visit as the Sooners played the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

Oklahoma has not rested on the legacy factor to land this coveted prospect. They have recruited him non-stop from the beginning and will do so until the very end.

Nonetheless, it’s clear this is a two-horse race entering the final lap and it’s now a sprint to the finish line.

Calvin Thibodeaux has come under scrutiny from Sooners fans concerned about his inability to recruit. However, if he lands this proverbial Gabriel Brownlow-Dindy, it’s safe to say that discussion will be a thing of the past.
