SeeYouSpaceCowboy: Hear Underoath's Aaron Gillespie Rage on Sasscore Band's New Song

Metalcore generations unite on "Intersecting Storylines to the Same Tragedy"

Revolver have teamed with SeeYouSpaceCowboy for an exclusive splatter vinyl variant of their new album, The Romance of Affliction, limited to just 300 copies. Order yours before they're gone!

SeeYouSpaceCowboy have had a collaborative year. Back in the spring, the sasscore purveyors released a crushing split with their buddies in If I Die First, and their forthcoming album, The Romance of Affliction, features guest appearances from big-wigs like Every Time I Die's Keith Buckley, Underoath's Aaron Gillespie, rapper Shaolin and the IIDF gang.

Last month, the San Diego crew unveiled the album's fiery lead single, "Misinterpreting Constellations," and today we're proud to be premiering the next taste, "Intersecting Storylines to the Same Tragedy," which happens to be the one that features Underoath's clean singer.

The song is basically an encapsulation of everything SYSC do in three minutes. There's freak-out screams and sassy yelps from frontwoman Connie Sgarbossa; growls and emo-ish cleans from her other bandmates; a blend of walloping breakdowns and spazzy guitar leads; and then a completely belting clean hook courtesy of Gillespie, who sounds right at home in SpaceCowboy's sonic landscape.

Crank it above via YouTube.

"This track's just about the process of struggling with a mental illness and pulling yourself out," Sgarbossa tells us. "A lot of it is about how sometimes people can go about things the wrong way and it can be almost more detrimental, so it's a song about stopping, taking a breath and really thinking about if you're pushing yourself too hard, or if what you're doing may seem like it's helping a lot, but isn't the best for your actual mental health and physical health."

"That was the big theme of that song," she adds. And of course, Aaron fucking kills it on his guest part."

The Romance of Affliction is out November 5th via Pure Noise Records and it's currently available for pre-order in multiple formats. Revolver has an exclusive vinyl variant on snazzy, splatter-colored wax that's limited to just 300 copies worldwide. Order yours before it's gone!
