Barbara Oliver Moffatt was born on Dec. 15, 1958, in Mayesville, the youngest daughter of the late Carrie Smith. She was called to eternal rest on Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2021, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital in Sumter.

Barbara was a faithful member of Bethany Missionary Baptist Church in Sumter, where she also was a member of the church choir. Singing and cooking gave her great pleasure, along with seeing her grandchildren.

She is survived by her two daughters, Antoinette Oliver and Carrie Oliver; three sons, Shannon Oliver, Vincent Speed and Adrian Oliver Moffat; two sisters, Sandra Benjamin and Ruby Tomlin; two brothers, Ronnie Smith and Tony Smith; six granddaughters; four grandsons; three great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In accordance with COVID-19 guidelines, the family is requesting no visitation at the home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday in the John Wesley Williams Sr. Memorial Chapel of Williams Funeral Home Inc., 821 N. Main St., Sumter, with the Rev. Daryl F. McGhaney, eulogist, and the Rev. Dr. David McGhaney Jr., pastor emeritus, officiating.

The procession will leave at 10:30 a.m. from the home.

Burial will be at Mayesville Cemetery, Mayesville.
