In the Hawks’ first preseason game, superstar point guard Trae Young exited with a leg injury after taking a knee to the thigh. Hawks fans everywhere held their breath in unison as we awaited any updates on his status. Tuesday, head coach Nate McMillan eased all of our worries.

Young didn’t practice Tuesday, and his status for Atlanta’s second preseason game against Cleveland is up in the air. However, it is more precautionary than anything else.

Young himself reiterated that he feels fine and even committed to being fully healthy by the time the regular season rolls around.

The Hawks dealt with a bevy of injuries to key guys last year, as every single player missed some time. Young, John Collins, and Clint Capela missed nine games; Danillo Gallinari, Onyeka Okongwu, Cam Reddish, De’Andre Hunter, and Kris Dunn all missed more than 20 games.
