The Milwaukee Bucks began the preseason as defending NBA champs on the road against the Memphis Grizzlies. The Bucks were definitely going to carry on with some notable absences with a long injury list.

In the end, the game was ended early because of a fire alarm that went off at the end of the third quarter. So...okay, the game ended with a 77-87 Bucks loss. Out of the players that did play, the Bucks started off cold with their three point shooting. Milwaukee was only shooting 20.8% from three in the first half and 36.5% from the floor. Memphis was on the front foot with 22 fast break points by halftime, which is how they were able to maintain a double digit lead for the majority of the first half. Jordan Nwora led Milwaukee with 10 points in the first half.

Grayson Allen had started the second half a personal 8-0 run to start the second half and Milwaukee was able to make some threes. Despite this run, Milwaukee couldn’t quite catch Memphis and get the lead and fell short in the end. Jordan Nwora ended with the highest point total for the Bucks with 16. Sandro Mamukelashvili had a solid 9 points, 7 rebounds, while Grayson Allen was 3-6 from three en route to 13 points.

For Memphis, Ja Morant is still pretty good leading all scorers with 27 points which included this thunderous dunk.

Bonus Bucks Bits

  • This was Lisa Byington’s first game on the call with Marques and Zora and she did a great job. She’s going to fit in just well.
  • The people love Mamu!
  • Trench Gang forever.
  • Khris Middleton had his priorities straight.
  • The Milwaukee Bucks are still NBA Champions, and technically the game didn’t finish so technically they didn’t lose this one, not really.
