Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Trevor Bauer – the second-highest paid player in Major League Baseball this season – posted a video Tuesday updating the public on accusations he assaulted a woman.
The MLB placed Bauer on administrative leave shortly after LA’s June 28 game against the Giants. Reports surfaced that Bauer allegedly engaged in a physical altercation with a woman at his Pasadena home.
In the video, Bauer said the allegations were “false and materially misleading,” adding he hopes to be able to speak in more detail soon.
Representatives for the Dodgers have not commented on the video. However, the team kicks off its postseason this week without its star pitcher. Bauer’s future with the team is uncertain, but “he absolutely will not be back with them this October,” Sports Illustrated reported.
The LA County District Attorney is investigating the alleged assault.
