A lot has been said about Tom Brady and Bill Belichick's strained relationship since the former left the New England Patriots in 2020 to join the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Despite all the negative talks, however, Brady has nothing but love for his ex-coach.

After the Buccaneers beat the Patriots on Sunday in Brady's first game back at Gillette Stadium since his departure, he took it to Twitter to show his appreciation for Belichick. The veteran QB and reigning Super Bowl champ kept it simple, saying “Appreciate you coach.”

Prior to the showdown, much of the talks about the game were focused on how Tom Brady and Bill Belichick's relationship has “deteriorated” over the years before the quarterback's eventual exit from the Patriots. There were even rumors that Belichick refused to meet Brady personally when he decided to leave New England in the offseason of 2020 to move to Tampa Bay and join the Buccaneers.

While the two have avoided talking about the issue and instead shared their respect for each other in multiple recent interviews, their rumored beef was highlighted once again when they shared a brief and cold hug after Sunday's game. Fans were quick to speculate there is indeed an issue between the two, while some simply shrugged it off and blamed Belichick's cold and serious personality.

Then again, regardless of the true status of their relationship, one thing is quite clear: Brady has all the respect in the world for Belichick no matter what.
