Longest-Leading No. 1s Ever on Billboard’s Latin Pop Airplay Chart

In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, Billboard put together the 20 longest-leading No. 1 songs on the Latin Pop Airplay chart. The list includes early 2000 pop anthems such as “No Me Doy Por Vencido” by Luis Fonsi to Shakira‘s “Suerte” and Ricky Martin‘s “Tal Vez.” It also includes more contemporary hits such as Rauw Alejandro‘s “Todo De Ti,” Daddy Yankee‘s “Con Calma” and J Balvin‘s “Ginza.”

In 2020, Billboard revamped the Latin Pop Airplay chart to better reflect the reach of Latin pop music on Latin radio. For the revised Latin Pop Airplay chart, songs are considered for inclusion if they are pop ballads or mid-tempo or up-tempo pop. Pop-rhythmic and Pop-dance tunes are eligible for the chart if they are not predominantly rapped and/or do not include notable Latin rhythm, tropical or regional Mexican elements.

The longest-leading No. 1s list is ranked based on peak positions on the Latin Pop Airplay chart from the ranking’s first chart week on Oct. 8, 1994, to the Oct. 2, 2021-dated chart. For songs with the same number of weeks at No. 1, we then ranked them by most weeks in the top 10, then most total weeks on the chart.
