Alex Cappy has been named vice president and CEO of Hubs. The Amsterdam company operates an online manufacturing platform that connects users in need of 3D-printed, CNC-machined, and injection-molded parts with its global network of manufacturing partners. She replaces the co-founder and former CEO, Bram de Zwart, who will focus on technological innovations.

Cappy has served as the COO of Hubs the past two years. As part of the transition to CEO, she will join the executive leadership team of Protolabs, Maple Plain, Minn., which acquired Hubs in January 2021.

Prior to joining Hubs, Cappy worked at Uber U.K., a number of startups, and the consulting firms McKinsey and Gartner.
