New York Yankees slugger Giancarlo Stanton is more than ready for the American League Wild Card game against the Boston Red Sox.

Stanton has been dominant since early August, hitting over .300 with tremendous power. That number has been equally as impressive against the Yankees’ arch-rival, the Red Sox. In a three-game sweep of the Red Sox at Fenway Park in late September, Stanton’s unique style of bat speed and tremendous power haunted Boston in the midst of a 7-for-12, three home runs, a double and 10 RBIs stretch.

Against the Red Sox on Tuesday night, Stanton will hit third, sandwiched in between Aaron Judge and Joey Gallo. Expect the Red Sox to pitch around Judge and Stanton as much as possible, forcing the ‘others’ in the lineup to contribute before giving way to a back-breaking blast.

Yankees: Giancarlo Stanton releases hype video for Wild Card game

Stanton’s message before the Yankees’ hopeful playoff run was simple: “We will not be stopped.” That tweet included a hype video which, at the very least, will get Yankee fans ready for Tuesday’s clash.

Now, as great as Stanton’s video message is, it also has the potential to haunt him down the line. And by down the line, I mean tonight.

“We will not be stopped” is a bold thing to say when playing your greatest rival, on the road, in a one-game playoff. Should New York lose, you can expect Stanton’s tweet to make its rounds on Red Sox Twitter, as well as Freezing Cold Takes. It’s only natural in this day and age.

But, that’s the risk you take to pump up a fanbase.
