HBO Max Releases Peacemaker Teaser
“He’s got the looks, the car, and the best sidekick ever — all in the name of peace.” HBO Max released an exclusive clip of the upcoming series, Peacemaker, and I’m looking forward to seeing it. We got to know Peacemaker, played by John Cena, in The Suicide Squad and he will be reprising his role in the spinoff series.
We start the Peacemaker teaser with four of Amanda Waller’s employees in a restaurant. They are shocked to see Peacemaker in his uniform. Some begin teasing him when he reaches the booth. He just takes it even when they make fun of Eagly, his bald eagle sidekick. I guess Peacemaker will allow ridicule in the name of peace as well. Not even a single threat and they know he can beat them to a bloody pulp very easily. That’s very bold of them and also very stupid.
James Gunn shared with Deadline:
Peacemaker is an opportunity to delve into current world issues through the lens of this superhero/supervillain/and world’s biggest douchebag. I’m excited to expand The Suicide Squad and bring this character from the DC film universe to the full breadth of a series. And of course, to be able to work again with John, Peter, and my friends at Warner Bros. is the icing on the cake.
John Cena shared a few words as well:
I have said before that it has been a tremendous honor and an incredible opportunity to be part of The Suicide Squad and to work with James on what is going to be a fantastic movie. I am unbelievably excited to have the chance to team up with him again for Peacemaker. We can’t wait for fans to see this.

I wonder if there will be some personal growth after what he did in The Suicide Squad. Maybe just a little? Peacemaker, Christopher Smith, is a character who was raised to fight at a young age and has never been taught how to make his own decisions or find his own morals. It’s hard to beat the extremism out of someone so I’m not going to hold my breath. Peacemaker will be released in January on HBO Max.
