Atlanta Braves look ahead to NLDS matchup

The Atlanta Braves have overcome the substantial odds that were certainly stacked against them, after chasing .500 for a majority of the season. Nonetheless, it hasn’t stopped Atlanta’s late surge to repeat as NL East champions. 

The Braves look to travel to battle the Milwaukee Brewers in a five-game series set to start in Milwaukee this Friday. The 37-year old Charlie Morton will take the hill for Game 1 against Cy Young candidate Corbin Burnes.

Atlanta brings their power-hitting offense head to head against Milwaukee’s star-studded pitching staff, which will try to suppress the power of the Braves offense that’s third in the major leagues. As great as that pitching staff is in Milwaukee, Atlanta’s offense could give it some issues.

The evident benefit of the Brave’s big power-loaded lineup will be keeping any opponent they play in these playoffs on their heels. With the power in this Braves lineup, one misplaced pitch could be sent to deep center. The Braves have been known to show time and again that this team can flip the game on one little error by the opposition. 

Atlanta will be the underdogs going in but many will express a strong optimistic belief in the Braves. This upcoming series feels closer than the records represent. It will come down to clutch hitting. Both teams have had strong pitching staff performances, which could construct some intense low-scoring games, which is what playoff baseball is all about. The considerable difference between the two teams in the Braves has an advantage offensively. We’ll see if that comes into play this Friday.
