Gentry School Board OKs staff changes

GENTRY -- The Gentry School Board, at its Sept. 27 meeting, approved numerous staff changes in the district, in addition to hearing the district's annual report to the public and holding the district's required Title One meeting.

Among staff changes, the board approved the resignation of Karen McCoy as nurse at the primary school and approved the hiring of Jacob Lee as a paraprofessional, Robin Welch as the middle school nurse, Ruby Backer as a para-professional and bus driver, and Tiffany Makey as the primary school nurse.

In-district transfers include Jacob Lee to teach middle school science and Mary Bailey to a new district nurse position.

A resignation was accepted from Brock Bunch, middle school science teacher, and from Kendra Crouse for her duties as a junior high cheer coach.

Laura Park was hired to teach first grade.

The board approved a new uniform design for the high school softball team.

Also approved were financial reports for the last period, a memorandum of understanding regarding tuition with Northwest Technical Institute for its career classes at the high school career center and a Gentry Activity Handbook for the current school year.
