Adele Teases Her New Single Coming Out This Month

Her fans think a spate of new billboards that have popped up with the number 30 on them could also be a clue about her forthcoming album.

After six years full of anticipation and rumors, Adele is finally ready to bless the world with some new break-up anthems.

The pop star teased a new single called “Easy on Me” on social media on Tuesday, posting a 20-second clip from what appears to be the song’s music video shot in her typical black-and-white style. In the snippet, Adele can be seen popping a tape into her car’s cassette player and turning up the volume before cutting to a glimpse of her signature cat eye makeup. As the music starts to play, she drives the car packed full of her belongings down a country road with her sheet music flying out the window. The music stops short before Adele’s voice can be heard, but not before informing her fans that the full track will be released on October 15.

This announcement also adds new credence to another fan theory about some very mysterious billboards that have been popping up in different cities around the world. On the first of October, signs started appearing everywhere from Ireland to Dubai with only the number 30 written on them, which would be in keeping with Adele’s age-related discography so far. The Grammy winner’s last three albums—19, 21, and 25—were all named after the age she was when writing and recording them. While Adele is now 33, her listeners have been speculating that she may have recorded the album years ago, prior to her 2019 separation and divorce from then-husband Simon Konecki. So while she may now be happily in a new relationship with Rich Paul, it seems this record will likely be focused on the breakdown of her marriage and ensuing heartbreak. Social media sleuths also noticed that the singer’s friend, wellness author Jedidiah Jenkins, has been liking posts about the enigmatic advertising campaign.
