River City Girls scored big points with me in its presentation. The sprite work was praiseworthy for sure, but you give me stylized manga panel cutscenes and I’m there. Thankfully Wayforward must feel the same, as those are returning for the aptly titled sequel River City Girls 2.
Speaking of returning, the trailer spotlights both the two leads of the first game and longtime stars of most River City games Kunio and Riki. They’re joining Misako and Kyoko this time, bringing the pain to anyone that stands in their double-dating way.
River City Girls 2 will arrive on Switch and plenty more platforms sometime in 2022.
