Steph gets lots of respect, admiration in NBA GM survey originally appeared on NBC Sports Bayarea
The 20th annual general manager survey from NBA.com was released Tuesday morning, and to no surprise, Warriors superstar Steph Curry received plenty of respect around the league. Reminder: GMs cannot vote for their own players or personnel, making votes that much more impressive.
Curry, who is entering his 13th season with the Warriors, found his name at or near the top of a handful of categories. Curry was voted as the NBA's best point guard (57 percent of votes), the best pure shooter (90 percent of votes), the best at moving without the ball (50 percent of votes) and he was voted as the player who forces opposing coaches to make the most adjustments (27 percent of the votes).

While those were the categories that Curry led, he also received the second-most votes (24 percent) when asked which player you would want taking a shot with the game on the line. His former teammate Kevin Durant topped the category at 24 percent. Curry also received votes for the best shooting guard and the NBA's best leader.
Perhaps the most surprising result is that Curry came in sixth when predicting who will win MVP, receiving just 3 percent of votes. In order from top to bottom, he's behind Durant, Luka Doncic, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Joel Embiid and James Harden.

Curry finished third in last season's MVP race, receiving 45.3 percent of votes. He led the NBA in scoring with a career-high 32 points per game, while also averaging 5.8 assists and 5.5 rebounds per game, and shot 42.1 percent from 3-point range.
The Warriors should be much better this season, and if Curry plays close to how he did last season, he'll be right back in the thick of MVP conversations.
