As expected, Greg McKegg cleared waivers and will be assigned to the Hartford Wolf Pack. This now brings the New York Rangers roster down to 26 players.

Defensemen (9): Adam Fox, Libor Hajek, Zac Jones, Ryan Lindgren, Nils Lundkvist, K’Andre Miller, Patrik Nemeth, Jarred Tinordi, Jacob Trouba

Goaltenders (2): Alexandar Georgiev, Igor Shesterkin

The forwards on the bubble are: Barron, Hunt, and Gauthier.

Mika Zibanejad named to Swedish Olympic Team

Yesterday, Sweden named three players to their Olympic team and Mika Zibanejad was one of them. Also added were Victor Hedman and Gabriel Landeskog.

His wife, Irma Helin who is also a broadcaster wrote:

“The first three names for the Olympics have been released. OS !!! As you dreamed of this. I’m so proud of you darling! The world’s biggest congratulations to you,” in a tweet tagging Mika.
