Colts worked out trio of players, including Jordan Matthews

The Indianapolis Colts held a workout for three players on Monday, including former Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Jordan Matthews, per the league’s transaction wire.

Matthews has a history with both head coach Frank Reich and quarterback Carson Wentz from their days with the Eagles. He was the leading receiver for the Eagles during Wentz’s rookie season in 2016.

Since then, Matthews hasn’t done much in the league. He had a short stint with the Buffalo Bills after being traded in 2017 before returning to the Eagles in 2018-2019. Matthews has spent the last two seasons on the practice squad for the San Francisco 49ers.

It isn’t clear what position the Colts worked him out at as Matthews announced he would be switching from wide receiver to tight end moving forward.

Seeing as the other two players that worked out for the Colts were tight ends Daniel Helm and Michael Jacobson, it would be fair to assume Matthews was worked out as a tight end.
