There are many things to like about the Jacksonville Jaguars even though they’re currently 0-4. Rookie quarterback Trevor Lawrence is steadily improving. The coaching staff has gotten running back James Robinson more involved in the last two weeks and Shaquill Griffin is playing like a Pro Bowl cornerback. Moreover, the early returns of Dan Arnold are encouraging.

Then again, there are different reasons why the Jags haven’t managed to win a single game in the 2021 season. Chief among them is their defense’s inability to make impact plays and create turnovers. Moreover, they aren’t getting much production from their rookie class. Even though they had nine draft selections, only Lawrence and cornerback Tyson Campbell are getting a meaningful amount of playing time.

While the Jaguars are getting good production out of several players, there are other contributors that have struggled to make an impact early in the season. In particular, these five have seen their stock go down in recent weeks.

Jaguars player whose stock has plummeted No. 1 – WR Tyron Johnson

The Jags had top priority in the waiver wire, and they used it to claim wide receiver Tyron Johnson after the last round of roster cuts before the start of the season. The Oklahoma State product showed promise last season, hauling in 20 receptions for 298 yards and three trips to the end zone. Moreover, he averaged a monster 19.9 yards per catch.

It looked like Johnson could be a big part of the Jaguars’ offense in 2021 but that hasn’t been the case. The second-year wide receiver has appeared in all four games but has played just 27 offensive snaps and has caught just one pass on three targets for six yards. The team’s brass has placed DJ Chark on the injured reserve list, so it will be interesting to see if Johnson will have his playing time go up.
