First look at Tommy in Power Book 4 Force as release date is teased

Starz has unveiled a first look at Joseph Sikora's Tommy Egan in sequel series Power Book IV: Force.

Taking to Instagram on Monday, October 4, the US network shared an image from the new show, which follows Power Book III: Raising Kanan, the 1990s-set prequel that revolved around Curtis '50 Cent' Jackson's drug dealer Kanan Stark, the mentor-turned-rival to Tommy and Ghost.

"Damn, we missed this face. #PowerForce coming early 2022," it wrote in the caption, teasing when the spin-off is set to air.

Later, Sikora took to his own page to post something similar, prompting a comment from former Power co-star Omari Hardwick, who played Ghost, that read: "Go get it."

"WE MISSED YOU!! It's YOUR TURN," Ballers and Empire actor Kris D Lofton – who plays Jenard Sampson in Power Book IV: Force – wrote, too, alongside a flame emoji, two traffic light symbols, three smiling devils and a clinking champagne glass emoji.

Force was originally intended to be Power Book V, with Influence – centred on Larenz Tate's Rashad Tate – as Power Book IV. Ultimately, of course, these two ended up being switched.

"What you can expect on the show is a lot more of the same from Tommy," Sikora previously teased as part of an Instagram Live. "But he's got nothing. So remember, he left New York with nothing. He left with a bunch of money, some guns, some burners, and that's it. Just everything he had on his person."

Picking up right after the events of the finale, the outing sees Tommy trying to "rebuild himself" in Chicago in real-time.

"They've definitely given Tommy a very fast trajectory towards the inroads of [the city], Sikora told Entertainment Weekly. "So my job is to make sense of that and to show up as, I guess, the force of nature – pardon the pun – that Tommy really is."
