Letter: How do we deal with these house ants?

I would like for someone to explain why this summer has been besieged with house ants. Everyone seems to have this problem, which is much worse this year. Neither sprays nor traps nor stomping seems to be effective. Suggestions would be helpful on the best way to deal with them.
