Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Coronation Street's Nina Lucas received a stern warning from uncle Roy Cropper in tonight's double-bill (October 4) as her revenge plot against Corey Brent continued.

In this evening's first episode, Corey's father Stefan threatened to sue Roy and Nina (Mollie Gallagher), after the latter started handing out flyers alluding to his involvement in Seb Franklin's murder around town.

Later, Nina thought she'd had a breakthrough when she learnt that Corey (Maximus Evans), who'd just landed a gig with Weatherfield County FC, was set to address the accusations surrounding him in a new press conference.

But her optimism turned out to be short-lived when she realised he was using the opportunity to play the victim, and spread more lies.

"Most people will have read about the murder of Seb Franklin, a horrific incident for which the killer has been rightfully imprisoned," the youngster addressed the audience. "They may have also read that there was another suspect on trial, too, who was found innocent, and I'm here today to say that that was me.

"You may wonder why I'm doing this? Given that I was granted anonymity?" he continued.

"It's because the victim's family and friends, despite the fact that I was cleared of all charges, have started a campaign to blacken my name – falsely believing that I should've been convicted as well. This is to set the record straight. I repeat, I was found innocent."

In the second instalment, a desperate Nina met with a reporter from a local newspaper and encouraged her to write a piece that could expose Corey's crimes – but was left deflated when the journalist outright refused, explaining that The Gazette could be done for libel if it published anything it couldn't back up completely.

Later, as she was getting into Roy's car, she saw Corey distractedly walking on the cobbles, while on the phone to one of his mates. Spotting Nina revving the engine, Roy demanded that she give him the keys.

"I saw the way you looked at him. I know he hurt you, but a life for a life is not the answer and never is. I think you need to see someone, talk about what you're going through," Roy urged when they arrived back at the café.

"I don't know what you're talking about... leave me alone!" she shouted, before storming out.

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm.
