Emmerdale spoilers follow.
Emmerdale has revealed a first look at the maize maze being grown for Super Soap Week.
Two elaborate 100 metre-by-100 metre hedge designs were grown side-by-side over five months for a week of terrifying twists, overseen by designer Duncan Howell and Head of Design Gillian Slight.
The Emmerdale team used GPS to cut the hedges into the exact same pathways two times over in order to film these dynamic and explosive scenes.
"We wanted something that was unique to the Emmerdale landscape that also packed a dramatic punch," producer Kate Brooks has said.
"The idea of a maize maze really captured our imagination as we felt that it would provide the perfect backdrop for the high-octane drama to unfold. Duncan Howell and his team have done an amazing job of bringing the maze to life."
Emmerdale has already promised the big week will be "one of the most gripping and thrilling weeks" in the history of the soap as episodes revolve around Priya Kotecha and Ellis Chapman's survival challenge.
The maze seems like fertile ground for serial killer Meena Jutla (Paige Sandhu) to strike, having recently become consumed with jealousy over her relationship with David Metcalfe (Matthew Wolfenden).
An Emmerdale statement has promised: "Fast-paced, ambitious storytelling, filmed across several locations and involving multiple spectacular stunts [that] will have viewers on the edge of their seats.
"At the heart of the drama, fuelled by overpowering jealousy, is malevolent Meena, whose cold-blooded attempts to have everything her own way will cast a dark and foreboding shadow throughout the drama.
"With twists and turns at every corner, which will no doubt shock and surprise the audience in equal measure, the week's compelling chain of events will lead to a chilling climax."
Super Soap Week will also feature dramatic scenes on Coronation Street, where a storm causes monumental consequences with the sinkhole.
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
