Lizzo Faces Backlash for Posing With Chris Brown & Calling Him Her ‘Favorite Person’

Lizzo is letting it be known that she’s a fan of Chris Brown. On Saturday, the “Rumors” singer was spotted posing with Brown backstage at the Oakland, Calif., stop of the Millennium Tour — which featured performances from Ashanti, Bow Wow, B2K and more — where she took a brief moment before their photo opp to tell Brown how much of a fan she is.

In the video, Lizzo is seen speaking to Brown and asks him, “Can I get a picture with you because you’re my favorite person in the whole f—ing world.” After posing for a solo picture with Brown, Lizzo and her friends join in for a group photo before the video ends.

Fans are unsure of how to feel about Lizzo posing with the “Look At Me Now” singer, who has faced his fare share of controversy, most notably his assault of then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009, but also being accused of threatening a woman with a gun at his house in 2016 and facing rape allegations in 2019. Some critics of the “Rumors” singer disapproved of her being a vocal fan of Brown’s, while others defended her and explained that she’s liked him since she was a teenager.

Lizzo herself has yet to respond to any of the backlash surrounding her photo with Brown, but she did post a compilation video of her time at the concert, which she captioned “THE MILLENNIUM TOUR IS MY SUPERBOWL B—H.”
