The Columbus Blue Jackets announced Monday the club has trimmed its training camp roster by 27 players. After the cuts, there are currently 30 players in camp including 18 forwards, nine defenseman, and three goaltenders.
The club also announced it has placed the following players on waivers for the purpose of assignment to the Cleveland Monsters of the American Hockey League: defenseman Gavin Bayreuther, goalie Jean-Francois Berube, forward Brendan Gaunce and forward Tyler Sikura.
Forward Tyler Angle, defenseman Tim Berni, defenseman Jake Christiansen, forward Josh Dunne, and forward Carson Meyer have been loaned to Cleveland.
The following players on AHL contracts have been released from tryout contracts and have been returned to Cleveland: forward Cole Cassels, forward Cole Fonstad, forward Brett Gallant, forward Jake Gaudet, forward Adam Helewka, forward Zach Jordan, forward Tristan Mullin, forward Justin Scott, forward Jake Slaker, defenseman Cole Clayton, defenseman Olivier LeBlanc, defenseman Thomas Schemitsch, defenseman Dillon Simpson, defenseman Billy Sweezey, defenseman Giovanni Vallati and goalie Jet Greaves.
Foward Navrin Mutter and goalie Evan Moyse have been released from their tryout contracts.

Columbus is currently 2-1-1 in preseason plan and will return to the ice Monday night against Buffalo.
The regular season will begin on October 14 when the Blue Jackets host the Arizona Coyotes.
